Poffertjes are a traditional Dutch treat. Resembling small, fluffy pancakes, they are made with yeast and buckwheat flour. They have a light, spongy texture. Typically, poffertjes are a sweet treat, served with powdered sugar and butter. PANCAKES Amsterdam wouldn’t be PANCAKES Amsterdam if we hadn’t expanded our poffertjes menu. For example, we also serve poffertjes with homemade chocolate sauce and ice cream. Or if you would like to go a bit crazier, you can try our Dutch poffertjes served with eggnog, chocolate sprinkles, and whipped cream. A real sweet treat for a perfect afternoon, after strolling around the Anne Frank Museum.
GOOD TO KNOW! Unfortunately, we do not serve poffertjes in all of our PANCAKES Amsterdam restaurants. We do serve them at PANCAKES Amsterdam Westermarkt which is located between the Westerkerk and Anne Frank Museum.
