The Pedestrian: Subway - Getting the Box

For this puzzle, players should drop the wire coil in the main puzzle, then go through the door leading to the box. One of the panels here can't be moved, so the others should be arranged to connect the doors and ladders as seen above.

Very fun game; the levels start off easy but get more difficult as new mechanics are introduced, but the puzzles never feel "unfair." It's always nice to get that little hit of dopamine after figuring out a puzzle you've been stuck on for a while.

Finally, players can transfer the 2D character back to their console so they are moving in the 3D world again. The last exit is behind the player through the wall next to the computer. At the end of the hallway, there's a dock where players can board a boat and sail away to complete The Pedestrian.

It's smart, challenging and looks fantastic. The Pedestrian may look like another simple skill-platformer, but the sum of all ofits additional elements —setting, aesthetics, original mechanics— makes it a great game for every fan of the genre.

In simplest terms, irony occurs in literature AND in life whenever a person says something or does something that departs from what they (or we) expect them to say or do. Just as there are countless ways of misunderstanding the world [sorry kids], there are many different kinds of irony.

While there isn't a designated “Reset” button for the puzzles, it's super easy to start one over if you've worked yourself into a corner. Walking into a hazard like a laser or saw blade will kill you, set you back to the starting position, and reset any switches and items in the puzzle.

Go through the locked door and up the elevator to activate the switch, then exit right. Take the elevator up to the top and go to the room with the box, moving it until the Pedestrian makes it to the panel with the key. Use the box to hop up, grab the key, leave the upper door to the final room, and exit right.

The police car, which is revealed to have no occupants, cannot understand why Mead would be out walking for no reason, and so it decides to take him to the Psychiatric Center for Research on Regressive Tendencies.

"The Pedestrian" explores themes such as conformity vs. individualism, technology vs. romanticism, isolation, and nature vs. the city.

What are the rules in The Pedestrian? ›

Follow the rules of the road and obey signs and signals. Walk on sidewalks whenever they are available. If there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic and as far from traffic as possible. Cross streets at crosswalks or intersections.

Does the game autosave ? Yes. The audio save at the end of puzzles and when you exit the game.

The only other character besides Mead who speaks, it is revealed that the car is robotic and operated remotely. Its “iron voice” speaks to Mead in a harsh, accusatory tone as it interrogates him. The car asks why Mead is walking alone, and then it inquires about his profession, home life, marital status.

In "The Pedestrian," the climax occurs when the robotic police car opens the door and tells Mr. Meade to get inside the car.

The conflict centers on man's humanity vs. numbing effects of technology. When the story opens, Leonard Mead is walking alone on a buckling sidewalk through a silent city in the year AD 2131. Inside the houses that he passes, people are passively watching television.

Resolution: The resolution is implied. He will never return to his "brightly lit" home (36). Instead, he will spend the rest of his life locked up in the psychiatric center. On the surface, this story is about a man who gets arrested by a police car with no policeman inside for doing normal activities.
