This edition of Guide to Greenwich explores three different locations to find the best pumpkin muffins.
For this edition of Guide to Greenwich, I visited three locations to determine which store sold the best pumpkin muffins. I judged the muffins based on their taste, price, and proximity to Sacred Heart Greenwich.
Starbucks
First, I visited the Greenwich AvenueStarbucks, nestledamidst many boutique stores and restaurants. About 15 minutes from Sacred Heart, this shop is easily accessible for students. Their Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin is a delectable fall treat with a sweet cream cheese filling at its center. Starbucks sprinkles the top of their muffinwith chopped-up pepitas. Overall, I enjoyed the muffin’s complex taste and moist texture. While the pumpkin flavor had the perfect amount of spice, the cream cheese was a little overbearing. For $3.85, the price was reasonable.
Brook Street Hot Bagel and Deli
Next, I visited Brook Street Hot Bagel and Deli in Scarsdale, New York. Less than 20 minutes away from Sacred Heart, Brook Street offers a wide selection of bagels, breakfast burritos, scones, and muffins. Outside its staple blueberry and chocolate chip muffins, Brook Street’s seasonal pumpkin muffin provides customers with a bite of autumn. Unlike the Starbucks muffin, the Brook Street Bagelspumpkin muffin is plain with nothing on its exterior, but its simplicity allowed for a complete, undisturbed pumpkin taste. However, for $3.75, the muffin was a little too expensivefor its undersized stature.
The Kneaded Bread
Lastly, I visited The Kneaded Bread in Port Chester, New York. This bakery on Main Street is approximately ten minutes from Sacred Heart. The store’s cute and welcoming atmosphere made it feel as if I was in my own home kitchen. The Kneaded Bread offers a large selection of bread items varying from cornbread to challah. Their pumpkin muffin is very delicious with a complete pumpkin taste. The inside of the muffin was very moist and was just sweet enough. For $4.00, the store valued the muffin appropriately.
Winner
After comparing the options, I felt that Starbucks had the best pumpkin muffin. Its warm taste, epitomizing the feeling of fall, captivated me. For the price of $3.85, it had the most reasonable value of all the muffins that I tested.
