WWE Raw Winners And Grades

Liv Morgan Flirts With Dominik Mysterio

Liv Morgan announced her revenge tour and noted she planned on completing this tour by taking Dom from Ripley.

Before Liv Morgan’s advances could go any further on Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor hit the ring and put an end to it.

Liv Morgan played with Dominik’s hair, and he couldn’t help but smile before catching himself. This was once again brought up via Pat McAfee’s Pat-a-strator.

Liv Morgan and Dominik Segment: A-

Ludwig Kaiser Def. Sheamus

Sheamus was beat to hell by Ludwig Kaiser, who isn’t nearly the chopper that GUNTHER is, but chopped hard enough to leave red bruises on Sheamus’ chest. To be fair, this is not a difficult task on the fair-skinned Sheamus.

In a very good, very violent match where Sheamus favored his knee, Kaiser attacked Sheamus’ knee and won with an awkward pinfall.

Ludwig Kaiser vs. Sheamus Grade: A-

Finn Balor Def. Dragon Lee

WWE aired a video package for Dragon Lee, but due to outside interference from The Judgment Day, Lee still lost.

After the match, Braun Strowman hit the ring alongside Rey Mysterio. Pat McAfee wasted no time by playing off his social media controversy from earlier in the day, calling Strowman a “big white Son of a b–h!”

Finn Balor vs. Dragon Lee Grade: B-

Otis Attacks Sami Zayn

Chad Gable sent his terrified stablemates out to read a prepared statement. Maxxine was the spokeswoman, as she reluctantly read the message calling Akira Tozawa a “fake ninja,” Otis a “child who couldn’t even hold on to his Money in the Bank Briefcase” and Maxxine a “wannabe Barbie.”

As Sami Zayn tried to convince Alpha Academy to leave Chad Gable’s cult, Gable attacked Zayn from behind. Tozawa, Dupri and even Otis all tried to stop Chad from attacking Zayn. When Otis betrayed Gable’s orders, fans exploded in cheers. Zayn then accidentally bumped Dupri and Tozawa off the apron, prompting Otis to slam Zayn. Tremendous heat.

This was an outstanding segment. Chad Gable continues to be one of the best heels in the business. He’s hilarious in his role, but commits enough to be legitimately hatable. Alpha Academy has morphed into The Bloodline in just over a month given their heat. Ironically, Otis is in the Sami Zayn role.

Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable Segment: A

Bron Breakker Def. Ricochet

Ricochet cut a great promo backstage alongside Ilja Dragunov, and he’s now essentially the full package as a potential main eventer. Unfortunately, he’s still mired under the midcard ceiling, and despite being the Speed champion, he’s set up to be Bron Breakker chum bait.

Bron Breakker is simply too physically impressive to be booed. Fans marveled at his speed and explosiveness and barked every time he hit a big move on poor Ricochet.

Breakker taunted Samantha Irvin while on offense. WWE doesn’t overplay its hand with the Irvin-Ricochet romance, so taunting Samantha during a Ricochet match remains effective.

Breakker had to be bleeped out while saying “sh*t!” as Ricochet went for a flying clothesline.

There were ooh’s and ah’s for Breakker as he scaled to the top rope and hit a Frankensteiner on Ricochet. Breakker won with a Spear. Ever the pro, Irvin announced Breakker as the winner with a head of steam.

Bron Breakker vs. Ricochet Grade: A

Kiana James Def. Natalya

Kiana James cut the most scripted WWE-style promo of her life backstage, but she’s a good talker so it was passable.

Michael Cole talked up James’ (seemingly legit) business background.

There was little heat for this match as Natalya had to scream “come on, Hershey!”

Kiana James won the match with her finisher “the 401k.”

Kiana James vs. Natalya Grade: C

Braun Strowman Def. Carlito

Braun Strowman vs. Carlito was set up backstage as somewhat of a hazing ritual.

This was a one-sided match outside of when The Judgment Day interfered. At one point, Strowman literally swatted Carlito away like a fly.

The Judgment Day attacked Strowman after the match, but Swattin’ Strowman fended them off including the swatting of a steel chair. Liv Morgan defended Dominik Mysterio from a Strowman attack. This led to an attack on Strowman where JD McDonagh beat the living hell out of Braun with a steel chair.

Liv Morgan once again made an advance toward Strowman, and once again, Mother Hen Finn Balor blocked the exchange.

Braun Strowman vs. Carlito Grade: C

Cargill And Belair Def. Stark And Baszler

I guess Bianca and Jade can technically go on both Raw and SmackDown since they are the women’s tag team champions, but having said that, Bianca was the No. 1 Draft pick on SmackDown.

Bianca and Jade received a huge reaction from what was a great Pittsburgh crowd.

Belair and Cargill wowed the crowd with a stereo vertical suplex followed by a stereo kip-up.

Just as Belair was headed for a victory with a KOD on Zoey Stark, Alba Fyre and Alba Dawn interfered.

Cargill and Belair vs. Stark and Baszler Grade: C+

Jey Uso Appears Live

Jey Uso cut a promo from the crowd, which was a great visual but he seemed rattled while having to speak among a sea of people. Fans love Jey, though, and they rallied around him as he gathered himself to continue his promo.

Jey Uso declared himself for WWE Money in the Bank. Jey seemed like he had more to say, but got cut off as his music played.

Jey Uso Promo Segment Grade: C

AOP Def. The New Day

Backstage, Lyra Valkyria declared for the women’s Money in the Bank Match as WWE continues to build toward multiple pay-per-views on one show.

After vowing to Woods that he would not have Kofi Kingston by his side moving forward, Karrion Kross and AOP made good on that promise by beating The New Day. No way New Day breaks up coming out of this.

AOP vs. New Day Grade: B-

Damian Priest Def. Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio hugged a very surprised elderly woman while headed to the ring in a wholesome moment.

Mysterio and Priest had a great match in their sleep, but I was surprised there wasn’t more interactions between Rey and Dominik.

Dominik Priest won the match with a South of Heaven from the top rope. The show ended with the heel Damian Priest chokeslamming the heel Drew McIntyre through a table.

Damian Preist vs. Rey Mysterio Grade: B
