Inside this enormous all-suite resort sits the independently operated Canyon Ranch Spa, a 69,000 square-foot wellness facility adorned with the hottest cardio and weight equipment.

The pricing for all the fitness fun can be rather complicated, and in our opinion confusing. First, use of all fitness AND spa areas is complimentary with the purchase of a salon/spa service of $50 or more! As a Venetian hotel guest, you will get 20% off of spa services if booked via the concierge. Guests of theVenitian Hotel (2 per room and over 18 years of age) can also access the fitness center for free. Any class or use of the wet spa requires an additional fee ($50/day ($100/3 days, $160/5 days). Outsiders must pay $60/day, $125 for 3 days and $175 for 5 days. Bottom line: If you are a Venetian Hotel guest, you can sweat for free!

Reaching the club requires a lengthy hike through the seemingly endless Venetian Mall, so wear your workout shoes and ask for directions. All fitness equipment is located on Canyon Ranch's lower level. Descending the stairs you will notice the enormous 40-foot rock climbing wall that shoots up to the ceiling. Beyond this wall you will discover Canyon's cardio zone has upgraded to all TechnoGym, all with attached personal plasma screens. In yet another huge space, strength training is the focus with cutting edge stack-loaded machines, computerized resistance machines, and a healthy supply of free weights. And for those with group activity in mind, loads of classes are offered including cycling, yoga, and fitness testing.

Swimmers must give their Speedos a break. Despite all the space, Canyon Ranch has no intention of installing a lap pool of any size, disappointing since not one of the 4 outdoor Venetian pools is "lap-swimmable." Several off-site lap swim options exist. The closest and least expensive is the municipal pool.

Joggers should consider our outdoor run route that goes through UNLV.
