Rachael Ray's daytime talk show came to an end after 17 seasons on May 24. Her final episodes included emotional farewells from fellow celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Donnie Wahlberg, and Michelle Obama. Weeks later, fans are still left wondering why The Rachael Ray Show ended and what's next for the cook and television personality.
Rachael explained the decision in a statement to Deadline. She said, "In my more than 20-plus years in television, I have had 17 wonderful seasons working in daytime television with Rachael. However, I’ve made the decision that it is time for me to move on to the next exciting chapter in my broadcast career."
Her decision to end her long-running show was timed with the launch of her new production company, Free Food Studios. She told Deadline, "My passions have evolved from the talk show format production and syndication model to a platform unencumbered by the traditional rules of distribution. … That is why I am looking forward to putting all my energies into my recently announced production arm, Free Food Studios."
Free Food Studios has an Instagram and Facebook page, but both have been pretty quiet for now. As we await details on this new venture, we are confident that Rachael is keeping busy. The entrepreneur has her hands full of her Nutrish pet food line, collection of cookwares, meal kits with Home Chef, and even furniture collections. Still, we're hopeful to see her back on our TV screens soon.
