LOL i emailed a guy local to me selling some series 2's for 50.00 with the eq. He never responded, i figure they sold in like 5 min.

I picked up a pair of 901 series II at good will on friday for 10 bucks without the EQ. I polhed them up with some restore-a-finish and posted them on Phila. CL for 200 bucks and had a lot of reponses immediately. I traded them for a pair of Timewindow 1A's straight up to another CL poster. I did listen to the 901's without the eq for like 10 minutes and all I can say was "wow". Unfortunately, it wasn't a good wow. They were simply awful. Now as for those timewindows...................SCORE!

Now in the interest of full discolusre I have to state that I own no Bose products, nor have I ever heard a pair of 901's. But I do believe in giving any gear a fair hearing and it is my understanding that the 901's "must" be used with the matching equalizer!
Buying them cheap and flipping them is perfectly OK but to use them without there matching EQ and condemning them is patently unfair!

That guy posts tons of mid-range stuff on the Reno craigslist weekly. Almost all of it is reposted for months. The other problem is, Mammoth Lakes is about 2-3 hours from Reno! Not exactly local...
Did not know that and yeah it is a drive but hell if they are there long enough I might take a road trip!
