HOW ( ?? ) can I remove this USB3 SSD from showing in the Safely Hardware Removal ..............??
This SSD is shown between my internal HDDs ( in regedit) and also in the USBSTOR in regedit , between my USB hardware.

I managed to remove my internal 2 HDDs and my internal SSD ( system Win11 on it ) .
Dont want to remove the external SSD anyway ( always boots in Win11 ) , so ..........HOW ( ??) to remove it from showing up ?? Removing an USB3 SSD from Safely Hardware Removal (2)

Windows Build/Version
Win11 , latest 23H2

Help me to understand the goal here. That icon shows up whenever a USB drive is attached to the system. Is the mere presence of that icon bothering you? Do you have it in the overflow area where it will be out of the way and unobtrusive?

Just because the icon is there, this does not mean that you have to use it.

Again, if you could clarify just a little bit what the goal is, I might be able to answer better.

To add, that feature in the Notification Area is intended to prevent data corruption that usually will occur if the device is removed before Windows has completed its process of writing and verifying.

You may just want to be aware that by default, write caching is not enabled on external drives making it unnecessary to eject a drive before unplugging it. I must connect flash drives and SSDs to my computer a minimum of a dozen a times a day and NEVER use the eject tool.

Thank all for help first !
But why is this SSD shown in regedit , between my internal SSD and HDDs ?

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\SCSI\Disk&Ven_Samsung&Prod_SSD_850_EVO_1TB\6&1c8928&1&000000]
"Capabilities"=dword:00000060

Second ; its also shown in USBSTOR ( regedit) ,
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_Samsung&Prod_SSD_850_EVO_1TB&Rev_0_12345669534D&0]
"Capabilities"=dword:00000010

Must be possible to remove it from showing up in the "Hardware Safely Remove " , coz I dont want to remove it anyway .............

Would it still show in “safely remove” if the external drive had a static drive letter? (And named)

That doesn’t mean that the drive letter is static for that drive

Are you concerned that you may accidentally eject it?
I know of no reason to even open that. Like it’s been mentioned, safely removing a usb is pretty much redundant.

This is how I managed to exclude my internal hardware from showing up in the " Hardware Safely Remove " , its the system SSD , together with two other internal HDDs ;

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\SCSI\Disk&Ven_Samsung&Prod_SSD_850_PRO_256G\4&268c595a&2&000000]
"Capabilities"=dword:00000060

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\SCSI\Disk&Ven_WDC&Prod_WD40EFRX-68N32N0\4&268c595a&2&020000]
"Capabilities"=dword:00000060

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\SCSI\Disk&Ven_WDC&Prod_WD40EFRX-68N32N0\4&268c595a&2&030000]
"Capabilities"=dword:00000060

Now HOW (??) to get my SSD EVO between these drives , so wont be seen either ??
This regfile is a task which will be executed after every reboot.

Removing an USB3 SSD from Safely Hardware Removal (18)

It's does not precisely refer to what you are asking, but you might look at the following article for some help:

It is UASP - USB Attached SCSI disk protocol, so it appears as a SCSI disk drive, as you see in the rtegistry. This is good - a UASP supported USB drive will perform faster than just USB . You want this also because it supports TRIM for the SSD, which just plain USB does not.

EDIT: You might be able to remove it from the safely remove by going into the device Manager -> disk drives -> <your SCSI disk> -> policies tab
and change it to quick removal. This will likely kill your drives performance though.

Yes , on USB3 , so its faster then "normal "USB , remains the question HOW(??) to remove it from showing up in " Safely Hardware Removal " ! DONT WANT TO REMOVE IT !!
Besides , not possible , its always "in use " ..........
Should I remove the writing cache , and change the removal protocol.........??

We cross "posted" I edited my post above. Unless you set it for "Quick Removal" you need to use the safely remove or risk corrupting files. This is because Windows buffers writes to the drive in memory and must flush them to the drive before you remove it. If you set quick removal it does not buffer (and this is why it adversely affects performance as it flushes on every write).

The probable reason it is always busy is it is open by Windows defender to scan it. This is a bad implementation by MS. You can get around it by excluding the drive from scans in defender, but then the drive never gets scanned for viruses.

I still have never received a response to my query. I wanted to know what the end goal is. Is there some reason that the mere existence of this icon disturbs you? Just because it exists does not mean you need to use it. I simply ensure that it is only in the overflow area, so it doesn't even show up on my taskbar.
