Before first time use
- Remove the safety cover and check
- Check the pressure cooker pot, lid and other parts for any damage or cracks.
* Remove the safety cover and rubber gasket to check. - Wash off any oil or dust
- Some products may have oil or dust remaining from the production process. Clean the pressure cooker with a sponge using a mild detergent or soapy water and 2 or 3 drops of vinegar, before using for the first time. Any oil adhering to the cooker will yellow and harden if it is exposed to heat before the oil is cleaned off and will be difficult to remove.
- Check performance
- After checking all parts, heat up the pressure cooker with about 3 cm of water in it to check the valve’s up and down performance.
Amount of pressure cooking
Do not cook an excessive amount at a time
Food, including liquid, must only fill up to 2/3 of the cooker. Beans and rice which expand from cooking or cause bubbling must only fill up to 1/3 of the cooker. It may cause plugging of the center valve or safety valve, or cause a boil-over, if you try to cook too much food.
Recipes not for pressure cooking
Do not use baking soda, milk or large amounts of oil
Baking soda creates bubbles that expand rapidly, milk bubbles and forms a skin when heated,so do not use baking soda, milk or large amounts of oil.
Remove the lid for food with thick sauce
Cook without pressure by taking the lid off when you cook thick foods such as stew or curry. For food with high viscosity, there is a risk of upsetting the operation of the safety valve and the valve center, resulting in abnormally high pressure.
Sealing and opening the lid
Add pressure only after pressure cooker is completely sealed with the lid
Steam is sealed in by closing the lid on the pressure cooker pot to successfully produce pressure.
Turn the lid till you hear a clicking sound to properly close it.
Open the lid only when the valve or safety lock pin has gone down
You can open the lid only when the valve or safety lock pin has gone down. To insure your safety, never open the lid while the pressure is still there.
“Super Pressure Cooker alpha”, “Super Pressure Cooker Vertex” and “Super Pressure Cooker” have their own structures, so read the instructions for each model.
