Improper Reading Of Tables On ESPN Major League Baseball Standings Page

Hi Group,

If you visit the address: http://www.espn.com/mlb/standings

tables for this page are not rendered properly. What you get is a table with 18 rows and 1 column that contains the team name only in one column and no navigation is possible for determining the records and statistics. This table is followed by a series of tables containing the statistics. This renders standard table navigation keystrokes (control + alt + left/right/up/down arrows) useless. I believe this is new in NVDA 2018.1.1. I did not notice this as recently as last January with the NFL standings on ESPN nor was the bug present last year in the Fall during the baseball season.

I am using Windows 10 with latest updates and this occurs with both Firefox and Edge browsers.

I think the tables are being read properly. The page has, evidently, changed. I see the same thing with older versions of NVDA and Firefox. In addition, I looked at the table without using table commands. No additional information is presented in the table looking at it without using table commands. If the table contained other columns, they would have been readable somewhere in the table.

The question is, do you now need to hover a mouse over a team name or get the information in some other way?

However, doing a Google search for something like baseball team standings or baseball standings, I don't remember just what I searched for, gave this page as one of the results:

I'm not a sports fan and I don't follow such information. But the tables are read correctly. See if the information given is complete for your purposes.

This is where an older version on the disc as portable is very handy.

That sort of idiocy is happening all over the place. Even Github is using it to find out more about contributors by hovering over them.
