How to watch the GHSA baseball state championship? ›

All games are available to watch LIVE and On Demand at NFHS Network to any device. Subscription rates apply. Streaming rights are exclusive to the GHSA and the NFHS Network.

Unfortunately, the answer is a resounding no. In Georgia, the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) strictly separates JV (typically freshmen and sophom*ores) from the varsity squad (upperclassmen).

NFHS Network (https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/associations/ghsa) is the official digital network of the GHSA, with live and on demand video streaming to any device of regular season, playoff and state championship action in several sports throughout the scholastic year.

TIE-BREAKER PROCEDURE:

The team(s) with the best won-lost percentage record(s) against all teams, including region and non-region games, in the school's same classification.

All games will be made available on ESPN+ and the SECN+ apps as well as the primary broadcast on ESPNU.

The 2024 GHSA Baseball State Championships were held May 16-21 at Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium and JI Clements Field.

Students in grade 8 are never eligible for a varsity event in any activity. Eighth grade students who play on a high school team must meet all middle school requirements as put forth by the State Department of Education.

SENIORS – Senior athletes are not eligible for Junior Varsity competition and shall not play on any JV team in any sport. Exceptions: Cross Country (see the Cross Country By-Laws for specific details) and by consent of the League Commissioner.

GHSA Rule: 1.30 - AGE To be eligible to participate in interscholastic activities, a student must not have reached his 19th birthday prior to May 1st, preceding his year of participation.

Will the GHSA football championship be televised? ›

The Georgia high school football championships will air on the NFHS Network on Dec. 11-13. The games are at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

At the end of the first half of play, if a team is trailing by 30 or more points, the coach of the trailing team has the option to play the second half of play with a running clock. If the coach does not exercise the option mentioned above, the third quarter is played under normal timing rules.

If the two teams remain tied, the game continues with a second overtime period. There is no second coin flip, just an alternating choice (meaning the team who lost the OT coin flip gets first choice of offense, defense, or end of field).

High school football teams usually play between eight and ten games in a season, starting after Labor Day. If teams have successful league seasons, they advance to regional or state playoff tournaments.
