    How To Make Shrimp Dip

    1. First, you want to cook the shrimp. If you want inspiration, I suggest using this easy and delicious Lemon Herb Garlic Butter Shrimp recipe.
    2. Then, let the shrimp cool a bit before chopping them up into pieces.
    3. In a large bowl combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, yogurt (or sour cream), shredded mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, garlic, lemon juice, herbs, and seasonings. Please ensure that the cream cheese is softened, otherwise, it will be a bit of a challenge to whip everything together.
    4. Add the diced shrimp to the cheesy mixture; stir and mix until everything is completely incorporated and transfer the shrimp mixture to a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish.
    5. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
    6. Remove from oven and serve immediately with veggies, pita chips, crackers, etc.

    Recipe Tips And Variations

    • Experiment with Seasonings: Don’t hesitate to switch up the flavors by adding various seasonings, spices, or herbs to suit your taste.
    • Incorporate Vegetables: Adding baby spinach or chopped bell peppers can introduce a fresh, colorful twist to the dip.
    • Alternative Options: If shrimp isn’t available or preferred, consider substituting it with crab or diced ham for a different yet equally delicious flavor profile.
    • Make Ahead: You can prepare this dip a day ahead (up to 24 hours), just cover it and keep it in the refrigerator. Take it out 30 minutes before baking to let it reach near room temperature.
    • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350˚F oven for about 8 to 10 minutes.

    Serving Suggestions

I highly recommend serving this dip with my wonton chips, my air fryer potato chips, or my fantastic bagel chips. For a lighter option, grab these air fryer buffalo cauliflower bites, and arrange some broccoli florets and veggie sticks around the bowl with the shrimp dip.

    • 1 block (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
    • ½ cup sour cream or plain yogurt
    • ¼ cup mayonnaise
    • ¾ cup shredded mozzarella
    • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
    • 1 tablespoon minced garlic, about 4 cloves of garlic

    • fresh ground black pepper, to taste
    • juice of 1 lemon

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 350˚F and lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish. 8×8 works great.

    • Cook the shrimp; let cool for a bit and coarsely chop.

    • In a large bowl, stir together the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic, Old Bay seasonings, hot sauce (if using), salt, pepper, lemon juice, 2 tablespoons chopped parsley, and the chopped shrimp. Mix and stir until thoroughly incorporated.

    • Introduce more flavors and texture by mixing in veggies like baby spinach or chopped bell peppers.
    • If you’re out of shrimp or prefer something else, try using crab or diced ham for a tasty and different twist.
    • This dip can be made up to a day in advance. Just cover and store it in the fridge. Before baking, let it sit out for 30 minutes to reach room temperature.

This looks great and I would love to make it. Can I use salad shrimp (precooked)? I would just skip the cooking shrimp part right?

      Best Shrimp Dip EVER!!!!
Always the appetizer I’m asked to bring! The only thing I do different is use a lb. bag of fresh frozen peeled and deveined shrimp and quick scampi them in a little olive oil and seasoning and then dice up. Soooo delicious!!!

You can freeze this cream cheese dip, but keep in mind that the texture may change and become noticeably grainier when you thaw it.

Great taste! Doubled the Old Bay. Next time maybe just a bit of lemon juice. It was very runny!
